Directive 2009/16/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on port State control. This Directive implements within the European Community a port State control system. It sets out common criteria for control of ships by the port State and lays down harmonized procedures on inspection and detention.

The Treaty provides for the establishment of an internal market, including the abolition between Member States of obstacles to the free movement of goods and services, and for the institution of a system ensuring that competition in the internal market is not distorted.

The eSignature Directive established the legal framework at European level for electronic signatures and certification services. The aim was to ensure the security and legal integrity of communication occurring online by making electronic signatures easier to use and legally recognised within the European Union.

The purpose of this Directive is the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States on certain aspects of the sale of consumer goods and associated guarantees in order to ensure a uniform minimum level of consumer protection in the context of the internal market.

The Electronic Signatures Directive 1999/93/EC was a European Union directive on the use of electronic signatures (e-signatures) in electronic contracts within the European Union (EU). Regulation 910/2014 (eIDAS) from 1 July 2016. It was repealed by the eIDAS regulation on 1 July 2016.
