Footnotes and endnotes explain, comment on, or provide references for text in a document. Footnotes appear at the bottom, or the foot, of each page in a document, while endnotes appear at the end of a section or document. Other than that difference, they work the same way.

Replies (2) ? In the Desktop application, if you switch to Draft View and then click on Show Notes in the Footnotes section of the References tab of the ribbon, you can then see all of the footnotes in the Footnote Pane.

First, you should check the obvious formatting-related issues. Are some of your footnotes formatted as Hidden text? If they are and you have Word configured to not print Hidden text, the footnotes will not be visible in Print Preview. You'll also want to check to make sure that Track Changes isn't turned on.
