If you have a long text field that might span more than one page you can force a page break by adding blank lines at the point where you want the break to occur. It's a workaround, of course, but quite a serviceable one.

In RTF, \par represents a paragraph break. \page alone will suffice to create a page break without a blank line after it.

PageBreak. An element representing a page break. A PageBreak can be contained within a ListItem or Paragraph , unless the ListItem or Paragraph is within a Table , HeaderSection , FooterSection , or FootnoteSection . A PageBreak cannot itself contain any other element.

You can also right-click the row or column below or to the right of where you want to insert the page break, and then click Insert Page Break.

Simple Page Breaks A simple page break will force all the text behind the cursor onto the next page. Below (Fig 3-6) is an example of what what two pages of a document might look like before inserting a simple page break.

A page break or hard page break is a code inserted by a software program (e.g., word processor) telling the printer where to end the current page and begin the next. After inserting the Page Break, a symbol indicating the Page Break is shown, and the cursor is placed on the next page.

Insert a Page Break in Excel To insert a horizontal page break, select the row below where you want the break. Then, go to the Page Layout tab and click the Breaks drop-down arrow. Choose Insert Page Break. Alternatively, you can right-click and pick Insert Page Break.

Insert a page break Place the cursor where you want to start a new page. Select Insert > Page Break.

Insert a section break Select where you want a new section to begin. Go to Layout > Breaks, and then choose the type of section break you want. Next Page Starts the new section on the following page. Continuous Starts the new section on the same page.

Always force a page break before a paragraph Select the paragraph that you want to follow the page break. On the Home tab in Word, or on the FORMAT TEXT tab in an Outlook email, select the Paragraph Dialog Box launcher . Select the Line and Page Breaks tab. Under Pagination, select Page break before. Select OK.
