The international standard recommends writing the date as year, then month, then the day: YYYY-MM-DD.

Base date critically decides the rates/prices and the cost limit (cost estimate, project/design team fees estimate, other development/project costs estimate and risk allowance estimate). This will be the basis for calculating inflation, changes or other related variances.
