Instagram Highlights are similar to Stories, except they are permanently embedded in your profile until your delete them. Whereas Stories disappear after 24 hours, Instagram Highlights are Stories that you pin to your profile.

A highlight, or highlight cover, is a story or several stories which can be viewed permanently on an Instagram profile, instead of the usual 24 hours. It is possible to add several stories to a highlight and these will be shown one after another, just like stories.

Once you're done, your highlight will appear as a circle on your profile that plays as a stand-alone story when someone taps it. Click on the circle icon at the top of your profile that represents your Highlights. Select the Highlight you want to check. Swipe up on the screen to see the list of people who viewed your Highlight. You'll be able to see the number of views and a list of the usernames of those who viewed it.

Instagram Highlights are essentially the Instagram stories you choose to feature on your profile permanently. If you add a story to a Highlight, it will be visible even after 24 hours, so it's a great way to keep your most successful stories running.
