Assignment Hide Value Choice For Free

Canvas provides two controls for hiding grades and submission comments from students: the grade posting policy, where a teacher can set grades and comments to be posted manually, and the option to Hide Grades.

In the column of the grades you want to hide from students, click the three vertical dots and select Hide Grades. This displays the Hide Grades information tray. If you have not begun grading the assignment yet, the Hide Grades option will not be available.

Students can view a Grade Distribution Graph (GDG) for individual assignments in the course grade center. This distribution graph shows the mean score, high score, and low score.

Hiding the Grade Distribution Graph from students Navigate to the course and click the Settings menu. Click more options at the bottom of the settings page. Under the expanded options, place a check next to Hide grade distribution graphs from students. Click Update Course Details.

Select Hide totals in student grades summary and Hide grade distribution graphs from students. Select the above mentioned boxes, then select Update Course Details to save your settings. Enabling these settings will hide the total column for students when they view their Grades area in your Canvas course.

How do I hide the "Total Grade" from students? Go to Settings. At the bottom of the Course Details page, click "more options" Check "Hide totals in student grades summary" Click Update Course Details. This will hide the total grade and any associated assignment group total grades from students.

When assignment grades are hidden, students will not receive grade change or instructor comment notifications for the assignment. Students will also be unable to view their grades, including grade and score changes, instructor submission comments, Canvas DocViewer comments, and curved grades for the assignment.
