Annotating a text, or marking the pages with notes, is an excellent, if not essential, way to make the most out of the reading you do for college courses. Annotations make it easy to find important information quickly when you look back and review a text.

Select the photo in the message box, then hit Markup in the bottom-left corner. Draw, annotate, and use other Markup features as desired by tapping the Add (+) button. Tap Save > Done when satisfied.

To add an annotation with Apple Pencil, tap anywhere on the page, then tap the annotation tool in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
