Accept Title Field For Free

Generally, the Title column is a main column that is used to open, edit and work with the items in a SharePoint list.

Under the new Content Types section, click Item (to the left of the two checkmarks in screenshot above). Under the Columns section, click Title. Under Column Settings, choose Hidden (Will not appear in forms). Click OK.

Access your SharePoint site and navigate to the list. Click on the ?List? tab, then select ?List Settings?. Scroll down to ?Columns? and click ?Add a column?. Enter a suitable name for the new column in the ?Column name? field ? something that accurately represents the data you want to store.

Go to the list or library where you want to show or hide columns. , then select Column Settings > Show/hide columns. In the Edit view columns pane, check (to show) or uncheck (to hide) the box for the column or columns as needed.

The title column is a default column that is included in all SharePoint Online lists and can be used to store information such as the name of the list item. However, if you do not need to use the title column, you can easily remove it from your list.

Navigate to the SharePoint site containing the list. Click ?List Settings? under the ?Settings? dropdown menu. Select the title column.

For example, if I use a SharePoint custom list to build a project list, I might rename Title to Project Name to make it more clear to the users. To rename a Title field: Gear Icon > List Settings. Scroll down to Columns section, click on Title column.
