The West Virginia Affidavit of Unknown or Out of State Residency is a document used to prove a person’s residency in the state of West Virginia. This affidavit is typically used for official purposes, such as registering to vote or verifying a person’s eligibility to receive state benefits. The affidavit must be signed by the applicant and a notary public, and must include a statement that the applicant resides in West Virginia. There are two types of West Virginia Affidavit of Unknown or Out of State Residency: the Affidavit of Unknown Residency, which is used when an individual's residency is uncertain or unknown; and the Affidavit of Out of State Residency, which is used when a person resides in another state but wishes to establish eligibility for West Virginia benefits.
