The additional weekly payment of $300 under the FPUC program will be extended through September 4, 2021 as well. Four pandemic-era unemployment programs are set to end in Virginia on Sept. 4, the state's Employment Commission (VEC) announced Friday. The programs were authorized by the CARES Act of 2020 and extended through two coronavirus relief packages in 2021.

These programs have been funded and extended for 11 weeks, covering the weeks of December 27th, 2020 to March 14th, 2021. PEUC and PUA programs have a phase out period where existing claimants with remaining weeks/balances can file for benefits until the week ending April 10th, 2021.

The Virginia Employment Commission, which oversees unemployment benefit programs in the state, said Friday that it has started notifying recipients that all COVID-19 related federal unemployment programs will end on Sept. 4. One of the programs includes a $300-a-week federal supplemental unemployment benefit.

The PEUC program is now made up of 24 weeks which includes the original 13 weeks approved under the CARES act (which expired on December 26th, 2020) and 11 additional weeks approved under the COVID relief stimulus bill from December 27th, 2020 to March 14th, 2021.
