Corporate Ownership Statement The Virginia Corporate Ownership Statement (COV) is a document that must be filed with the State Corporation Commission (SCC) of Virginia. It is a statement of the ownership of a Virginia corporation, including information on the corporation's shareholders, directors, officers, and registered agent. It is required to be filed annually in order to keep the corporation's information up to date. There are three types of COV: Initial COV, which is required to be filed at the time of the corporation's formation; Annual COV, which must be filed each year prior to the anniversary date of the corporation's formation; and Amended COV, which must be filed when any of the information on the initial or annual COV changes.
