18 U.S.C. Sec. 2252A(A)(7) is a federal law that prohibits the production and distribution of adapted child pornography. Adapted child pornography is defined as any visual depiction that appears to be of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct, but is created, adapted, or modified to appear that an identifiable minor is engaging in such conduct. This section of law applies to the production, distribution, receipt, and possession of adapted child pornography. It is also illegal to advertise or solicit the distribution of adapted child pornography. The penalties for violating 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2252A(A)(7) are a maximum fine of $250,000 and a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years.
