A Notice of Non-Confirming Goods (also known as a Non Conformance Notice) is a document issued to inform a supplier that goods received do not meet the specifications or standards set out in the purchase order. Generally, a Notice of Non-Confirming Goods will include the details of the order, a description of the non-conforming goods, and the desired corrective action. There are two main types of Notice of Non-Confirming Goods: a Rejection Notice and a Non-Compliance Notice. A Rejection Notice is issued when goods do not meet the specifications set out in the purchase order and must be rejected. A Non-Compliance Notice is issued when goods meet the specifications set out in the purchase order but do not meet the standards required, such as industry standards or safety regulations.
