Texas Certificate of Authority Filing Requirements for Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCR Cs) are regulated by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). The Texas CCC Filing Requirements for Certificate of Authority apply to all CCR Cs that provide a variety of services, such as independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing care. The Texas CCC Filing Requirements for Certificate of Authority include a pre-application process, a formal application, and an on-site survey. The pre-application process includes submitting a completed application, an architect’s certification, a financial statement, and a detailed description of the services the CCC will provide. The formal application must be submitted within 60 days of the pre-application process and includes additional information about the CCC, such as the number of beds, services offered, and staffing levels. After the formal application is approved, an on-site survey is conducted to evaluate the CCC’s compliance with Texas state regulations. Once the CCC has passed the on-site survey, the CCC will be issued a Certificate of Authority. The Certificate of Authority must be renewed every two years, and the CCC must submit an updated financial statement and a detailed description of the services provided in order to maintain its Certificate of Authority.
