A Tennessee Request for hearing before the judge for Child Support cases is a formal document submitted to the court that requests a hearing at which both parties can present their respective cases to the judge in order to resolve a dispute concerning the amount of child support to be paid. The Request for Hearing will include the names of the parties involved, the amount of child support in dispute, and any other pertinent information. There are three types of Tennessee Requests for Hearing before the judge for Child Support cases: Modification of Child Support, Termination of Child Support, and Enforcement of Child Support. A Modification of Child Support Request for Hearing is used when either parent wishes to have the court modify the existing order of child support. This could be due to a change in financial circumstances, such as a parent losing their job or a decrease in their income. A Termination of Child Support Request for Hearing is used when either parent wishes to have the court terminate the existing child support order, usually because the child has reached the age of majority or has otherwise become emancipated. An Enforcement of Child Support Request for Hearing is used when either parent wishes to have the court enforce an existing child support order that is being ignored or violated by the other parent. This could include ordering the other parent to make back payments or to make sure future payments are made on time.
