ORDER STAYING WAGE GARNISHMENTS AND DIRECTING TURNOVER OF PROPERTY TO CHAPTER 13 TRUSTEE COMBINED WITH NOTICE OF THE ENTRY THEREOF Tennessee ORDER STAYING WAGE GARNISHMENTS AND DIRECTING TURNOVER of PROPERTY TO CHAPTER 13 TRUSTEE COMBINED WITH NOTICE OF THE ENTRY THEREOF is an order issued by the state of Tennessee that prohibits creditors from garnishing wages and directs the debtor to turn over certain property to the Chapter 13 Trustee. This order also provides notice to creditors that the order has been entered. There are two types of orders staying wage garnishments and directing turnover of property to Chapter 13 Trustee combined with notice of the entry thereof: (1) Automatic Stay Order and (2) Motion to Stay Order. The Automatic Stay Order is issued automatically when the debtor files a Chapter 13 petition, and it prohibits creditors from taking any action against the debtor. The Motion to Stay Order is issued when a creditor attempts to garnish the debtor's wages or take other action against the debtor.
