The Rhode Island Report of Independent Healthcare Reviewer-Review Team (MAB05) is a multi-disciplinary team of experts in the field of healthcare established under the Medical Assistance Board (MAY). The team is responsible for conducting independent reviews of healthcare services provided to Rhode Island residents. These reviews are conducted to evaluate the quality, appropriateness, and efficacy of healthcare services provided. The team is composed of a variety of medical professionals, including physicians, nurses, pharmacist, and a representative from the Department of Health. The team reviews patient medical records and charts, interviews healthcare providers, and evaluates the appropriateness of services provided. The team also makes recommendations for corrective action if necessary. The report of the review is then sent to the MAY, which makes a final decision on the quality of care provided. There are two types of Rhode Island Report of Independent Healthcare Reviewer-Review Teams (MAB05): the Comprehensive Review Team and the Targeted Review Team. The Comprehensive Review Team conducts a more in-depth review of healthcare services and is typically used for more serious cases. The Targeted Review Team focuses on specific areas of concern and is used for less serious cases.
