A Pennsylvania Notice of Appeal Municipal Court is a document filed by a person or their legal representative in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to appeal a conviction or sentence imposed by a local municipal court. The Notice of Appeal must be filed within 30 days of the entry of the conviction or sentence. Depending on the jurisdiction, there may be different types of Pennsylvania Notice of Appeal Municipal Court, such as a Notice of Appeal from a Magisterial District Judge or a Notice of Appeal from the Philadelphia Municipal Court. The Notice of Appeal must include the court division, date of conviction, name of the appellant, the name of the attorney, and the conviction or sentence being appealed. It must also state the reason why the appellant believes the conviction or sentence should be overturned. The Notice of Appeal must be signed by the appellant or their legal representative and notarized. The Notice of Appeal must then be filed with the Prothonotary office in the court of Common Pleas in the county where the conviction or sentence occurred.
