A Pennsylvania Precise for Appearance — Civil Plaintiff is a document used to initiate a civil lawsuit in Pennsylvania. It is a form filled out by a plaintiff (the person or entity filing the suit) that requests the court's service to notify the defendant (the person or entity being sued) to appear in court. It includes the plaintiff's name, address, and contact information, the defendant's name and address, the court to which the Precise is addressed, and the docket number of the case. There are two types of Pennsylvania Precise for Appearance — Civil PlaintiffPrecisepe for Summons and Precise for Complaint. The Precise for Summons requests the court to issue a summons to the defendant, while the Precise for Complaint requests the court to issue a Complaint to the defendant. Both documents must be signed and dated by the plaintiff or their attorney.
