The New York Hearing Memorandum is an official document issued by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services that provides notice of an upcoming hearing. It includes information such as the date, time, and location of the hearing; the type of hearing; and the name of the court. The memorandum may also include a summary of the charges and the name of the presiding judge. There are three types of New York Hearing Memorandum: arraignment, pre-trial, and adjournment. An arraignment hearing is the first hearing in a criminal case and is when the accused person is formally charged with the crime. A pre-trial hearing is when a judge hears any motions or pre-trial issues before a trial begins. An adjournment hearing is a hearing to extend the timeline of the case.
