The New York Statement of Transaction — Claim For Credit of Sales Tax Paid to Another State is a form used by businesses in New York State to claim a credit of sales tax that was paid to another state. It is also referred to as Form AU-11. This form is used to report sales tax paid to another state that is in addition to the New York State sales tax. There are two types of New York Statement of Transaction — Claim For Credit of Sales Tax Paid To Another State: Form AU-11 for businesses located in the metropolitan commuter transportation district (MCD) and Form AU-11-I for businesses located outside the MCD. The form requires information such as the name of the taxpayer, address, the amount of sales tax paid to the other state, and a description of the items purchased. It must be completed and submitted to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in order to receive the credit.
