The Nebraska State Bar Commission Background Check Waiver is a form used by the Nebraska State Bar Commission to waive the need for applicants to submit to a criminal background check. This waiver is required for those who have applied for admission to the Nebraska State Bar. There are two types of waivers available: the general waiver and the limited waiver. The General Waiver allows qualified applicants to waive the need for a criminal background check. This waiver must be signed by the applicant and notarized. The Limited Waiver is available to applicants who have had one or more criminal convictions or disciplinary actions against them by any licensing authority. This waiver does not waive the need for a criminal background check, but instead allows the Nebraska State Bar Commission to consider the applicant’s past in determininwhetherot the applicant is qualified to be admitted to the Nebraska State Bar. This waiver must also be signed by the applicant and notarized.
