The North Carolina Advice of Penalties/Acknowledgement-199C is a form used by the North Carolina Department of Revenue to inform taxpayers of their rights and obligations when they fail to submit a required tax return or report. The form outlines the penalties and interest that will be imposed if the taxpayer fails to respond to the Department's request in a timely manner. The form also includes information about the taxpayer's right to appeal the penalty and/or interest assessment. There are two types of North Carolina Advice of Penalties/Acknowledgement-199C forms; one for individuals and one for businesses. Both forms are provided by the North Carolina Department of Revenue and must be signed and returned in order to avoid the penalties and interest stated therein.
