Permanent Placement means reunification of the child with the child's parent, adoption, placement with a legal guardian, placement with a fit and willing relative, or placement in another planned permanent living arrangement until the child reaches 18 years of age.

Child placement review hearings are review hearings wherein a child's living arrangement is evaluated once he has been placed into foster care.Whether the case safety plan is working (i.e. whether the plan provided by the state is keeping the child safe and meeting his or her needs)

At the permanency hearing, the DCP&P will present a plan for the child's permanent placement. The plan can be to return the child to his or her parent, terminate parental rights and find an adoptive family, or naming the relative who is caring for the child the legal guardian.

What is physical placement? Physical placement is the legal term that refers to the times in which a court has ruled a child spend with either parent. During physical placement, the parent is directly responsible for the child's safety, well-being, and care.

At the hearing, the judge will ask both of the parties any questions that the judge might have. If the the parent the petition is filed against (the "Respondent") is there: The parent will be able to tell the judge whether he or she agrees or disagrees with having parental rights terminated.

At the adjudication hearing, the court decides whether CPS can prove the allegations in its petition. The CPS attorney will present evidence through the testimony of the CPS caseworker, law enforcement officers, or other witnesses, including any experts.

A TPR/adoption trial is a custody trial in which one is trying to prove that the child would be substantially better off being raised by the prospective adopting parent than by the biological parent.Anything that would be relevant in a custody case is relevant in a TPR/adoption case.

During this hearing the court determines the permanent plan for the child, which includes a determination of whether the child will be returned home. This hearing may occur at the 6, 12, or 18 month review. 1.Not warranted, Request for dependency and placement are dismissed and the child is returned home.
