The township is divided into two parts: the Flint Township proper, which is primarily residential, and the Flint Township Industrial Park, which is home to numerous industrial and commercial businesses. The township contains the Flint River and two state parks, Mott Lake and Bluebell Beach. It also contains the Flint-Worcester Airport and Mott Community College. Flint Township is served by two public school districts: the Flint Community Schools and the Flushing Community Schools. It is also home to a number of private schools, such as the Flint Jewish Day School, the Flint Islamic Academy, and the Flint Preparatory Academy.
