Maine Independent Local Church: Change of Clerk and/or Address is a process for churches in the state of Maine to change the registered contact information of their church. This includes changes to the registered clerk, address, and phone number. This process is necessary in order to maintain the church's legal standing in the state. There are two types of Maine Independent Local Church: Change of Clerk and/or address: by-mail and in-person. To complete the process by-mail, churches must complete the official “Maine Independent Local Church: Change of Clerk and/or Address” form and mail it to the appropriate office. To complete the process in-person, churches must visit the appropriate office and provide the necessary documents. In either case, the church must also notify its members of the change.
