The Kentucky Audio Recording Order is a legal requirement in the state of Kentucky that requires all sound recordings made for commercial used to be registered with the Kentucky Secretary of State. This includes sound recordings made for broadcast, television, and motion picture purposes. There are three types of Kentucky Audio Recording Orders: 1) Non-Exclusive Recording Order, 2) Exclusive Recording Order, and 3) Master Recording Order. The Non-Exclusive Recording Order is used to give permission for one-time use of a sound recording for a specific purpose. The Exclusive Recording Order is used to give exclusive rights to a sound recording for a specific purpose for a period of time. The Master Recording Order is used to give the owner of a master recording the exclusive right to reproduce and distribute the recording.
