Indiana Attorney Certification is a voluntary certification program offered by the Indiana Supreme Court that recognizes attorneys who have demonstrated a high level of professionalism, knowledge, and skill in particular areas of law. Attorneys who have earned this certification are held to a higher standard and serve as legal resources for the public. There are three types of Indiana Attorney Certification: Civil Trial Advocacy, Criminal Trial Advocacy, and Family Law. Civil Trial Advocacy Certification is for attorneys who have experience handling civil cases in court, while Criminal Trial Advocacy Certification is for attorneys who have experience handling criminal cases in court. Family Law Certification is for attorneys who have experience handling family law matters, such as divorce, adoption, guardianship, and child support. To receive any of these certifications, attorneys must have met rigorous criteria, including experience in their chosen field, peer review from other attorneys, and continuing legal education.
