Illinois Stalking, No Contact — Summon is a legal action taken by the state of Illinois to protect victims of stalking or harassment. It is a court order issued by a judge that requires the perpetrator of stalking to cease all contact with the victim and to stay away from their home or workplace. The order also prohibits the perpetrator from making any contact with the victim’s family, friends, or associates. It is designed to protect victims from further harm or intimidation and to prevent future stalking or harassment. There are two types of Illinois Stalking, No Contact — Summon orders. The first is a Temporary No Contact — Summon order, which is issued for up to 21 days and can be renewed by the court if needed. The second type of order is a Permanent No Contact — Summon order, which has no expiration date and is typically issued when the perpetrator has committed multiple acts of stalking or harassment.
