District of Columbia General Forms (SEB)-Precise (Legal) are legal documents used in the District of Columbia to request court action. The Precise is used to initiate a court action, such as a motion or petition. There are two main types of Precise: the Original Precise and the Continuation Precise. The Original Precise is used to begin a new action in the court. It includes basic information such as the names of the parties involved, the type of action requested, and the court in which the action is filed. The Continuation Precise is used to continue an action that has already been initiated. It includes the same information as the Original Precise, in addition to the date on which the action was initiated and the name of the clerk who filed the action. Both types of Precise must be signed by an attorney before they are accepted by the court.
