A California Request For Entry Of Default By Plaintiff(s) is a form filed by the plaintiff in a civil lawsuit in which the defendant has failed to respond to the lawsuit. It informs the court that the defendant has defaulted on the lawsuit and requests that the court enter a default against the defendant. There are two types of California Request For Entry Of Default By Plaintiff(s): (1) a Request For Entry Of Default if the defendant has failed to appear, answer, or otherwise respond to the lawsuit; and (2) a Request For Entry Of Default After Default Judgment. The latter is used when the court has already entered a default judgment against the defendant, but the plaintiff wishes to have the default judgment entered into the court record. Both types of requests must include a verification of facts, a certificate of service, and an affidavit of damages or demand for relief.
