Arizona Paternal Demandda is a legal process in which a parent can establish or dispute paternity in the state of Arizona. This process allows for an unmarried father to establish paternity and be formally recognized as a legal parent, or for a mother to dispute paternity of a child if she believes the father is not the biological parent. There are two types of Arizona Paternal Demandda: a voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity (AOP) and a court-ordered genetic testing. With an AOP, an unmarried father can agree to establish paternity by signing an affidavit with the Arizona Department of Health Services. For a court-ordered genetic test, a parent can file a petition in court to request a paternity test to establish or disprove parentage.
