FILING THE MOTION FOR CONTINUANCE File the motion with the Domestic Relations Clerk of Court located on the ground floor, room 35, of the Cuyahoga County Courthouse, 1 W. Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44113. You will be required to pay a ?filing fee? to the Clerk of Court at the time you file the motion.

IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED AS FOLLOWS: Except in exigent or unusual circumstances, any continuance motion or request must be in writing, signed by the client, and filed not later than seven days before the court event for which rescheduling is requested.

(f) A request for a continuance or postponement made within 10 calendar days prior to the hearing date will not be considered unless the judge is satisfied that circumstances relating to the requested continuance or postponement occurred within 10 calendar days of the hearing date.

Applications for continuances shall be made to the court, or filed in writing with the officer in charge of the trial list, after giving notice of such application by mail, or otherwise, to all parties or their attorneys.
