As soon as you apply to UTSA, you will be able to apply to live on campus. Log in to the UTSA Housing Portal using your myUTSA ID (abc123) and passphrase. Select the application based on when you expect to live on campus. Complete the general application section to show interest in living on campus.
You will need your myUTSA ID to apply. On-campus housing is not required for freshmen, but research shows that students living on-campus: are more satisfied with their living and college experience.
Once you complete the contract, the option to select/match with a roommate who has also their contract will become available. All roommate requests must be mutual in order to complete your assignment as a paired group.
Students may change their program of study, including majors, minors, concentrations, and degree type, up to the completion of 75 semester credit hours earned (not including dual credit, Advanced Placement (AP) credit, or other college credits earned while in high school).
On the Roommate Options step, include yourself in the roommate search process, enter your desired screen name and provide a brief description of yourself. The Roommate Request step allows you to search for roommates in multiple ways as well as provides updates regarding the roommates that you have requested.
Roommate Requests – Before Move In If a full room is not available, students who wish to be roommates may request a room swap. To make the request, one student fills out the Room Swap Form and the other person's currently assigned roommate also fills out the Room Swap Form.
If you would like to share your room with a specific person, you will need to indicate your roommate preference. Students can submit a roommate request, and once approved, they will be paired together.
The acceptance rate at UTSA is 88.5%. For every 100 applicants, 89 are admitted.
The cancellation request form is located on the housing portal, or can be provided via email per your request to the Office of Housing and Residence Life (studenthousing@utsa).
