We encourage you to take the Roommate Agreement seriously - schedule time to sit down with your roommate and talk through each of the points. It is important that you are honest and clear with your roommate during this time, and don't just say what you think your roommate wants to hear!
To request a roommate, both you and your preferred roommate (requests must be mutual) need to go to My UW Housing and complete the following: Either create a roommate group for your roommate(s) to join or join the roommate group your preferred roommate has already created.
If you would like to share your room with a specific person, you will need to indicate your roommate preference. Students can submit a roommate request, and once approved, they will be paired together.
Students get an opportunity to request specific housemates before the room assignment process takes place. This is an optional step in the application process. All housemate requests are submitted in the StarRez Portal for the session you are applying for.
UTA Housing makes every attempt to pair students that wish to room together, however roommate options are not guaranteed as availability, contracting, and other factors may effect roommate selection. Students use the UTA Housing Portal to select roommates.
Can I still request roommates? If you have both been offered to the same building and room type, then you can mutually request one another on the housing application, and we should be able to assign you to the same room in August.
All of our residence halls are gender inclusive.
Northeastern University is proud to offer All Gender Housing to all of our residential students. The All Gender Housing policy can be found here.
Your dorm or suite may be co-ed or single gender; some schools group suites by gender and floor, some do not.
