Tuition reimbursement (also known as tuition assistance) is an employee benefit through which an employer pays for a predetermined amount of continuing education credits or college coursework to be applied toward a degree.
An EAP— sometimes called a tuition reimbursement program—enables employers to fund their employees' higher education courses. For example, you might choose to fully or partially fund your employees' undergraduate or graduate degrees, professional development or skills-building courses, or vocational certifications.
Who is eligible for tuition assistance? All four service branches and the U.S. Coast Guard offer financial assistance for voluntary, off-duty education programs in support of service members' personal and professional goals. The program is open to officers, warrant officers and enlisted active-duty service personnel.
How do I apply: You must obtain proper authorization from your employer. Visit myFranklin payment options to submit Franklin's Employer Tuition Reimbursement application. You must submit the application each term you want to defer your tuition payment.
