An educational assistance program is a separate written plan of an employer for the exclusive benefit of its employees to provide employees with educational assistance. To qualify as a section 127 educational assistance program, the plan must be written, and it must meet certain other requirements.
All employees are eligible for up to $5,250 per calendar year. The tuition amount is deducted from the total on the start date of each course. You must earn a grade of “C” or above in each class to receive tuition assistance from Cook.
Who is eligible for tuition assistance? All four service branches and the U.S. Coast Guard offer financial assistance for voluntary, off-duty education programs in support of service members' personal and professional goals. The program is open to officers, warrant officers and enlisted active-duty service personnel.
