Michigan Bar Exam Scoring and Grading Michigan's minimum passing score is 268. Since the UBE is divided into 2 equally weighted sections — writing (MPT/MEE) and the MBE — you should aim for a 134 on each section. However, you do not need to score 268 on each section to pass the Michigan Bar Exam.
Prior to admission by examination, an applicant must pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE). Beginning with the July 2009 Michigan bar examination, applicants taking the bar examination as first-time takers must receive a scaled score of 85 on the MPRE to be certified by the Board.
