In Texas, veterans with a disability rating of: 100% are exempt from all property taxes. 70 to 100% receive a $12,000 property tax exemption. 50 to 69% receive a $10,000 property tax exemption.

In July 2020, the law established the Virginia Homestead Exemption as $25,000.00, and then in July 2024, the exemption increased to $50,000.00. This exemption will automatically adjust every three years for increases in inflation.

To qualify for the general residence homestead exemption, a home must meet the definition of a residence homestead and an individual must have an ownership interest in the property and use the property as the individual's principal residence.
