Every Florida resident who has been certified by one (1) Florida licensed physician as being totally and permanently disabled as of January 1, but not requiring the use of a wheelchair for mobility, can qualify for a $5,000 (Effective January 1, 2023) Disability Exemption on the assessed value of the property.

Florida resident veterans with an honorable discharge and are 100% permanently and totally disabled as well as quadriplegic veterans are exempt from paying property tax on their residence. Unremarried surviving spouses may also be eligible.
Since VA disability income is non-taxable, it generally doesn't have to be reported. If disability benefits are your only income, you likely won't have to file an income tax return at all. If you have other taxable income, you will still have to file as usual.
