While jeans are acceptable for jury duty in most courtrooms avoid jeans with rips and tears since you will be sitting for a long time choose relaxed fit jeans with a bit of stretch for all day comfort just to be sure, check with your couthouse to continue that jeans are okay to wear.

Therefore, jurors are requested to dress in a manner that is respectful to the litigants and the court. You may wear comfortable but appropriate business-like clothing. Shorts, jeans, t-shirts, tank tops and sweatshirts should not be worn.

Courtroom Regulations Cell phones, pagers and electronic devices must be turned off in the courtroom. You are not permitted to read newspapers or other materials in the courtroom. You are not permitted to bring food or beverages into the courtroom.

Jurors reporting for service should wear clothing appropriate for an appearance in court. Shorts, t-shirts, uniforms or clothing containing statements or offensive symbols are not permitted. All hats must be removed when in a courtroom. Comfortable clothing is also advisable.

You may request to be excused from jury service you if fall into one of the categories below. You are 75 years of age or older. You have served as a juror in the same county within the last three years. You believe that you will suffer a severe financial hardship. You have a medical inability to serve as a juror.

Jurors are obligated to remain 'on call' for jury service up to two (2) weeks. During that time, they may be called to serve on a jury. Jurors normally serve from 9AM to 5PM.

While serving a subpoena by phone is not standard practice, the process may involve communications over the phone.

If the named party in the documents cannot be found, the court may allow service by publication in a newspaper or by mail. Typically, the court may request that a reasonable attempt be made to actually serve the defendant or the person named before they grant permission to allow service by publication.
