Most states do require a J.D. degree for a US law school in order to sit for the bar exam. There are some states which do allow foreign law graduates to sit for the bar exam, including New York, California, New Hampshire, Alabama, and Virginia.

How to get into employment law? To work as a solicitor, you can either take the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), or if you are eligible, you can study the Legal Practice Course (LPC). An individual is eligible to work in the UK if they are a citizen of Britain or if they hold valid settled status in the UK. For non-UK residents, the right to work will be determined by their immigration status and any restrictions imposed on them by their grant of leave.
