Click the "File" tab in the upper left corner of your Word document. Select "Manage Document." Hit "Recover Unsaved Documents" from the drop-down menu. Check for your document in the dialogue box.

To see the entire Document Recoverypane, hover over the right edge of the pane until you see an arrow pointing left and right. Then click the arrow and drag it to the right to widen the Document Recovery pane.
If you haven't saved the file Go to File > Info > Manage Document > Recover Unsaved Workbooks in Excel, or Recover Unsaved Presentations in PowerPoint.
