Excel Recovery Pane Open File tab. Select Recent. At the bottom, click Recover Unsaved Documents button and look for the document/file that you're working on.

Go to File > Info > Manage Document > Recover Unsaved Workbooks in Excel, or Recover Unsaved Presentations in PowerPoint.

In Excel, choose the Home tab, and then choose the Show Taskpane button on the ribbon to open the add-in task pane.

To see the entire Document Recoverypane, hover over the right edge of the pane until you see an arrow pointing left and right. Then click the arrow and drag it to the right to widen the Document Recovery pane.

Using the Document Recovery Pane Open Microsoft Word and click the “File” tab in the top left corner. Select “Open” from the drop-down menu for the recent documents list. Look for the “Recover Unsaved Documents” button at the bottom right corner. Click it and the Document Recovery Pane appears on the left side.
