Do not donate infant formula during natural disasters or other emergencies. Only official relief organizations should provide and manage emergency supplies of infant formula. Relief organizations can give ready-to-feed (RTF) infant formula to families that need it.
The CDC says that all unused formula. should be thrown away as soon as it is projected. because of a concern that bacteria. will grow in the formula if you store it over time. But how much it actually grows is a question for data, and researchers have studied this by having adults. drink formula out of baby bottles.
Donate to local food pantries. They'll take unexpired, unopened formula.
