Special use permits, also known as conditional use permits, are another way to create exceptions to zoning rules. Unlike variances, special use permits allow specific land uses within a particular zone, subject to certain conditions or limitations.

Construction contracts in India are governed by the Contract Act, 1872. Section 10 of the act lays down the essential elements required for all contracts. Any contract that has an unlawful purpose is invalid.

Special land-use permits are also issued by the U.S. Forest Service for the operation of ski areas and other recreational facilities in national forests. These facilities are operated by commercial providers who help the public in a way that would not otherwise be helped by the U.S. Forest Service.

Any organized special event or special use of Liberty State Park's indoor and/or outdoor facilities must be reserved through a Special Event and Special Use Permit Application. A Special Use Permit is offered by Liberty State Park to accommodate types of activities that fall outside of the scope of normal park usage.

No person or corporation shall locate, erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, demolish or relocate any building, or change the type of occupancy without first obtaining the required permits for the specific work from the Inspections Department having jurisdiction.

A Special Use Permit runs with the land for two years and authorizes submittal of an application for approval of final plans by Zoning Administration staff, and issuance of necessary land use and building permits for the approved development.

The following projects do not require a permit: Asphalt or gravel driveways. Awnings (wall mounted only) Exterior work under $15000 - Non Structural Only. Interior work under $15000 - Non Structural Only. Non-residential farm buildings. Non-structural slab (no footers for future building construction)

If the work involves the addition, repair, or replacement of load bearing members or structures, the addition of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical wiring, devices, appliances, or equipment. Examples of work requiring a permit: Decks, carports, and garages of any size.
