The Delaware State Housing Authority's (DSHA) State Rental Assistance Program (SRAP) helps low-income individuals who require affordable housing and supportive services to live safely and independently in the community. SRAP is made possible by annual funding from the Delaware General Assembly.
If you are eligible and the application and balance statement from the Landlord are submitted without issue, the approval process may take up to 6 weeks before the Landlord receives payment.
If you are homeless or facing eviction, you can receive help with your first month's rent payment, security deposit, mortgage, utility bills, emergency shelter or food. You can receive one type of assistance per year. The maximum amount you can receive is $1,000 for rent or $1,500 in mortgage assistance.

Rent Assistance Changes The maximum rate of CRA will increase by 10%. For single individuals without children, the maximum payment will rise by $23 per fortnight, reaching $211.20. Couples will see a $21.80 increase, bringing their maximum payment to $199 per fortnight.
