Automated mail processing machines read addresses on mailpieces from the bottom up and will first look for a city, state, and ZIP Code. Then the machines look for a delivery address. If the machines can't find either line, then your mailpiece could be delayed or misrouted.
To correct the mistake, you need to cancel your shipping label and generate a new one with the correct ZIP Code.

If the address includes the correct street name and number as well as city and state, it will get delivered to the correct address. This is a common thing postal workers see every day and we know how to handle it. The incorrect zip code may delay the letter or package a day or two but it should get there.
It will go to the wrong post office. That post office may recognize it and forward it to the correct post office. Or it may return it to you.
ZIP Codes are numbered with the first digit representing a certain group of U.S. states, the second and third digits together representing a region in that group (or perhaps a large city) and the fourth and fifth digits representing a group of delivery addresses within that region.
Write POSTAL CODES in uppercase letters and separate the first 3 characters from the last 3 characters with 1 space. (No hyphens please. These can cause delays)
The first three digits before the hyphen identify the sectional center or large city. The second two classify the post office facility or delivery area. After the hyphen, the first two digits indicate the sector or group of blocks, and the last two identify the segment or one side of a street.
