There are no age restrictions to apply, but with an average of six years required for training, the sweet spot for auditioning artists is between the ages of 14 and 16. YG usually posts a schedule of yearly auditions but due to COVID-19, the entertainment group is only accepting online applications for now.

BLACKPINK members end solo contracts with K-Pop agency YG Entertainment. After signing an extension contract with YG Entertainment for their group activities, members of K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK have decided not to renew their separate individual contracts with the K-Pop agency.
Consent from a parent or guardian is required for those under 14 years old. Applicants are to register online at linktr.ee/ygaudition and can choose only one category for their audition: vocal, rap, dance or appearance.
The auditions are open to youths born between 2006 and 2013, regardless of gender or nationality. Participants can choose to showcase their talents in singing, rapping, dancing, or visuals. Applications can be made both in advance and on-site.
Along with online registration and the screening process, SM Entertainment will be physically holding K-pop auditions in 2024 in Los Angeles and Toronto. Dates for SM Entertainment's Los Angeles auditions are March 20 and 21. In Toronto, the audition will take place on March 28, 2024.
They will stay till 2023 as per their contract from YG Entertainment. They can renew their contract if they want to continue as a group after 2023.
