A marriage license expires if a ceremony isn't conducted before the 90th day after the license was issued. Section 2.201. The officiant must determine whether the license has expired and is prohibited from conducting a ceremony if it is expired.
As per Section 2.001 of the Texas Family Code, a marriage license may be obtained from any county clerk's office. Many Texas counties now offer an online application process.
Marriage License Expiration: A marriage license is valid for 89 days from the date it is issued; A marriage license expires if it has not been used before the 90th day after it was issued; If a couple wishes to marry after the expiration date, a new license must be purchased.
